Y O U R F U N C T I O N
BEFORE THE DAY
You are welcome to pop down (please call to arrange) on a Monday Evening, to have another look, or for a chat
about what you are thinking of doing as part of your function. You can either pay the balance when you call,
or we are happy to take payments by bank transfer (please note that your balance is due a month before your function)
SETTING UP YOUR FUNCTION (ON THE DAY)
Our staff will open the hall at the time advised on your booking form. This will usually be 5pm for evening bookings or noon
for all day bookings. This is also the time when our staff will start to position your tables for the function, and add any
decorations you have paid for. Please don't panic if you arrive at 5pm and nothing has been done. The room will be ready
by 7pm! Because our staff are here working to set up, the bar will not usually be open during this setup time. If you need
early access, this can be arranged, but this will incur additional charges.
PARKING
Your guests are invited to park in our car park (signposted on the left just after the front door) Cars can be left overnight
at your own risk. If you choose to park on the street, you are asked to park only in front of our premises, as our neighbours
take a dim view of inconsiderate parking. The car park before the hall is strictly for the use of our staff and disabled guests.
DELIVERIES
Your DJ or caterers etc can use the disabled car park for unloading and loading purposes, but may be asked to move their vehicles
after unloading. Access for unloading is via the disabled entrance at the side of the bar, and supplier must note that this door
must not be wedged open at any time. All suppliers must bring their items into the hall, and we cannot facilitate the use of external
suppliers of street food trucks parking outside the venue for guests to visit.
SECURITY BOND
You will have been asked to pay a security bond before your function. This will be refunded to you within seven days by bank transfer.
Deductions can be made from your security bond if your guests cause damage to the venue or the table linen, or if guests bring in their own
alcohol, or your total bar spend is less than the stated minimum. Deductions from the bond are rare, and where they are made, we will make every
effort to provide you with information to enable you to identify the guest concerned.
GUEST BEHAVIOUR
The vast majority of guests behave brilliantly, and it is rare that we have to take serious issue with anybody at a function.
We do, however need to ensure that guests stick to the rules;
-
Smoking and vaping are allowed only outside the front door of the building (not inside the porch)
-
Disabled guests may smoke outside the disabled entrance, but there is a strict limit of two guests in this area.
-
No drinks are to be taken outside (this is a condition of our licence)
-
Children must be properly supervised, and in particular must not congregate outside, in the stairwell, or in the buffet room.
Our staff will remind guests of these rules, but we do reserve the right to remove any guest that continues to ignore the rules after being reminded.
In addition, breach of any of the following will result in a guest being required to leave without a prior warning;
-
Any attempt to purchase alcohol by guests under the age of 18
-
Purchase of alcohol on behalf of a guest who is under 18
-
Bringing recreational drugs of any kind onto the premises
-
Consuming any drink not purchased from our bar on, or in the vicinity of, the premises.
-
Physical or verbal abuse directed at our staff
GUEST SAFETY
We want all of our guests to have a great evening, and go home uninjured.
Spillages and breakages happen, so please let our staff know, and they will take steps to ensure than nobody is hurt.
We do ask you to keep in mind that broken glasses do happen from time to time, and that whilst we make every effort to remove
any broken glass from the floor, there is always a risk that a small piece will be missed. For that reason, we ask that all guests wear
shoes on the premises, and that children in particular are not allowed to run around barefoot/
END OF YOUR FUNCTION
Our licence for both alcohol and music runs until midnight. Last orders will be called at 11:45pm, and the bar will be closed at 11:55pm.
Your DJ will be briefed on arrival that he must ensure that all music ceases by midnight at the very latest, and we will strongly
urge that he starts his last song no later than 11:50 to allow him to play one extra song if demanded. In order to ensure that we
don't have the trouble of dealing with neighbours reporting breaches of our licence, staff will strictly enforce this curfew. We are
not licenced for off-sales, and as such guests cannot leave the premises with their drinks.
LEAVING
We are not seeking to throw you out onto the street the instant your party ends, but once your DJ has packed up and left, guests will
be asked to move into the bar area to finish their drinks so that staff can clear the main hall, and we do aim to have guests on their way
home by 12:30, so that our staff can leave by 1:00 (some of them will be working the next day, and cannot legally stay later as a result)
THE MORNING AFTER
Our cleaner is on site from 9:30 am until 11:30 am the day after your function for you to collect any items that were not taken the night before
